MY NAME IS ERIN WALDRON
I made the Bar Chart Club for our local data visualization community.
Hello! My name is Erin Waldron, I adore people, and I love a good chart. The more chart makers I meet in Kansas City, the more I understand just how deep our local data visualization community really is. I created the Bar Chart Club as a way to bring all these folks together. If we haven’t met already, come find me at the next event! Everyone has a different journey to the data visualization table. I’d love to hear about yours.

Here are answers to a few of the most common questions.
Does it matter what tool I use to make charts?
Not at all! This is intentionally a tool-agnostic group. We’ve got all the tools represented in this group: Tableau, Power BI, R, D.3, PowerPoint, Excel. Whatever your tool of choice, you’ll find your people here.
Does it matter what industry I work in?
Not at all! These days, every industry has data, which means every industry has charts. Whether your work in the private or public sector, whether you work in academia or nonprofits, you’ll fit right in at the Bar Chart Club.
Making charts is just one part of my job. Is this group still for me?
Absolutely! The wonderful thing about data visualization is just how ubiquitous it is. Chart making is a small part of many jobs these days. If you’re excited to learn how to make great charts and meet other data enthusiasts, this group is for you.
I'm a local student. Can I attend?
Definitely! We’d love to have you. Networking in a group of professionals can be a great way to supercharge your understanding of the industry. Plus, we’re sure that you’ll have as much to teach the seasoned professionals in the room as they will have to teach you.
Do the events cost money or are they free?
Our quarterly meetups are completely free! Just be sure to RSVP.
Do I need to RSVP to attend?
Yes! Please make sure you RSVP so we can have an accurate headcount going into the event.
